Final Project

The person that I will write about is my uncle Muhammad Aljunaibi who is 62 years old. The reason of choosing my uncle is because he did a great achievement through his athlete life such as rowing sport in an Al Shahoof. At the beginning of his journey in rowing sport back in 1974, he worked in a small factory manufacturing traditional boats and ships. One of the traditional boats took my uncle’s attraction which was the Al Shahoof. It’s a long boat that carries around 10 persons on it and has no canvas to be used for sailing but only paddles. It was used only for fishing purposes as they sail from the afternoon and until the morning. It was difficult to carry the boat out of the shore because of its weight. He traveled to different countries like Kuwait, Qatar and Oman to learn and see the differences of designing Al Shahoof. The competition of rowing sport in the past was not taken as a serious deal because of the poor condition of life but, they usually collect money from each team to set as a price for the winner.

After discovering the oil in UAE lot of things has changed. The design of the boat developed using Indian wood called Teak which makes it highly rot resistance and very strong. At the beginning of the 1990’s they start to make competitions of traditional crowing sport with valuable prices which is sponsored by the late president of UAE Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Each boat has 10 participants and additional one who used to give spiritual songs to his colleagues. It was an advantage step to contain the traditions and culture of UAE and consider it as a sport by practicing it every year. Lately, Al Shahoof was modified with two engines and two seats only. It was classified to the list of high speed boats. Nowadays, these boats can be carried by cars using tow to transported from house to the shore or the warehouse for preparing.

Reflection of Case Study

In this project me and my colleagues planned to work as a group because it needs much organizing like preparing questions, contact to the manager of the club to arrange an appointment of visit, meeting any person who plays an important job in the facility to give us much information about the club and camera to take multiple clips around the facility plus editing the movie. I took media part because I have a camera and experience of editing. We chose Army Forces Club because unfortunately the previous option was Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Federation and it meets world championship which makes it difficult to contact with them. We extract some information about the club from the website and some by the corporation from management.

At the beginning we expect to have a professional interview with the person we met named Rajeesh who work as a receptionist. He talked about each activity in the club with participation fee but not that much of details as we need. Some of the questions he answered completely while the rest with poor information. We tried so hard to get another person to guide us and explain more about the facility but they were busy. In the past the club was made to be only who works in the military. Later on they changed some rules to allow any civilian to register in the club by payment with different prices compared to military members.

There were a few mistakes on our case study. To develop the skills we have to pick a perfect time to make interview with the person at the facility. Giving perfect questions that ends with lots of information about the club and its history. The club should make a section for touring. The tour guide must be active all the time expecting any visitations to the club. Also the club should have a small presentation room that will show the activities plus competitions. Our case study needs special equipment for recording clips like tripod and movie slider. Search for the right person to ask. Taking photos to the group starting from managing and how we did preparation until the end.

The design of The Yankee Stadium have a deep space on the left side of the right-handed hitters however it was impossible for them to get a home run. After passing years DiMaggio marry a movie star Marilyn Monroe and end up with a divorce in January 14, 1954. The skirt blowing on The Seven Year Itch movie was the reason of problems on their marriage. His biographer Richard Ben Cramer mentioned that the divorce was based on mental cruelty.
